Myrtle Beach police were looking for Joseph Rayfield on a warrant for murder out of Mecklenberg County, North Carolina when a hotel worker said they recognized his picture.
The worker told police Rayfield was in room 305.
Police knocked on the door and asked the man who answered if he was Joseph Rayfield. They say the man said he was.
Police handcuffed him and took him to the Myrtle Beach jail.
Police believe Joseph Rayfield killed a man using a blunt object in a home on Red Hickory Lane in Charlotte on July 24.
