More than 400 people voted in Tuesday's special election to fill a seat on Surfside Beach Town Council.

Beth Kohlman is the unofficial winner of the seat. She was running against Vicki Blair, who lost her council seat in April.

The seat was vacated when former councilman Doug Samples was elected mayor in April, and the term for the seat ends next May.

Blair received 130 votes to Kohlman's 290.

The final results will be certified on Thursday, and any challenges will be heard then also at a meeting at city hall at 10:00 a.m.
