According to a police report, Myrtle Beach police arrested John Henry Brown, 54, in connection to a stabbing Saturday evening.
Police responded to a stabbing at the pier at Withers Swash park around 5 p.m. and found a man with severe lacerations to his face and chest.
The victim told police he had been sleeping when he was awakened by Brown asking him for a lighter.
According to the report, Brown punched the victim several times.
Brown was arrested on the scene and police found a pocket knife with a razor blade.
The victim's injuries were severe, but not life threatening.
