Bennettsville police say they captured Thomas Little who escaped from the back of a police car, handcuffed and barefoot.

Chief Larry McNeil says an officer was trying to put Little in the back of his patrol car when he took off running.

He ran into a wooded area behind the police department off East Main Street, Chief McNeil says.

After about 45 minutes, officers found and arrested him.

Little will be held in the Marlboro County Detention Center.
