Red Springs police have charged Pierre Hunt, 17, with First Degree Murder.
Hunt was in court for his first appearance Thursday and a judge has denied bond for Hunt.
Police Chief Ronnie Patterson says Hunt got into an argument with Steve Wilson, 21, at the corner of Robert Avenue and Williams Street, Wednesday night.
Patterson says Hunt pulled out a gun and shot and killed Wilson. He says Wilson ran and Hunt fired the gun at least three more times.
An autopsy will determine how many times Wilson was hit with bullets.
Hunt is being held at the Robeson County Jail in Lumberton. He will remain there until his trial is held.
