DARLINGTON, S.C. (WPDE) - Police are investigating the apparent scalding of an 11-month-old child. Darlington Police Chief Danny Watson says the incident happened at the Bowen Manor Housing Complex on Old Florence Highway Saturday afternoon.

Watson says the child was taken to a Florence hospital for severe burns to his feet after being placed in hot water. The boy is now at the Augusta Burn Center.

Police charged Reggie Antonio Sumter, 24, with unlawful neglect of a child.
