Three-year-old Briana Brown drowned Sunday in an above-ground pool, Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley said.
The child's relatives called 911 from a home on Highway 9 West, but they took Brown to the hospital before EMS arrived.
Brown was pronounced dead at the hospital, and an autopsy is being performed.
She's from Maryland and was visiting relatives in Dillon County.
