At least seven people were stranded on the banks of Black Creek in Darlington County. Sheriff Wayne Byrd says the stranded boaters called 911 Saturday night around 9 p.m. saying their boat sunk. After a few hours of searching, rescue crews located the group. Everyone is okay.

Earlier in the night fire crews, deputies and officers with the Department of Natural Resources searched the water.

Sheriff Byrd said the boaters' cell phones were having problems with service and the calls kept dropping out.
