Florence County narcotics investigators found a methamphetamine lab in a motel on West Lucas Street Thursday Night.
They arrested Ottis Jefferson Smith, IV, 31, of Florence, and Shirley Daniel, 31, of Columbia.
Investigators describe the method being used to make meth as "One Pot" or "Shake and Bake."
They say the method makes it easier and faster to produce the meth but increases the danger of explosions.
Often times, the locations where the drug is made remain contaminated and toxic for long periods of time.
"The manufacturers of this drug place themselves and anyone else nearby at risk of injury and death every time one of these labs is operated," Sheriff Kenney Boone said in a news release. "In addition, meth is one of the most addictive drugs available."
They charged both Smith and Daniel with Manufacture, Distribution of Methamphetamine, First Offense, and Manufacture, Possession of Schedule V Drugs With Intent to Distribute.
Under South Carolina law, Manufacturing Methamphetamine is guilty of a felony punishable by up to 15 years in jail or a fine of $25,000, or both.
