Massive crowd marches for murdered "neighborhood superhero"

More than 100 people marched through the streets of Conway Wednesday, after they lit candles and had a moment of silence for Douglas Floyd, 34.

Conway Police have charged two people with his murder.

"Stop the violence, cease the violence," said Katima Lynch, who organized the march.

Floyd was the "neighborhood superhero" Teresa Dozier said.

"He'd give you the shirt off his back," she added.

Glenn Wendell Bellamy, 26, of Conway, is charged with Murder, Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons Unlawful and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime. Dustin O'Neil Wilson, 22, of Conway, is charged with Murder.

Just after midnight Tuesday, police responded to the 2300 block of Leonard Avenue where they found Floyd lying on the concrete with a gunshot wound to the head.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Duane Brown said Floyd died at the scene.

Bellamy and Wilson were taken into custody a short distance away by Horry County Police, following a traffic stop.
