Brandon L. Alford, 31, has turned himself in after the Marlboro County Sheriff's Office said he walked away from his work assignment Monday.

He turned himself into an investigator just after 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Alford was serving a six month sentence for Failure to Pay Child Support.

Sheriff Fred Knight said Alford was doing landscape work at the Marlboro County Administration Building Monday, when he told his supervisor he needed to use the restroom and then walked off.

Investigators haven't said where Alford was. He faces a charge of escape.
