Darlington County Sheriff wins Democratic nod

Taylor came to WPDE in 2011 from Greensboro, N.C., after working at WFMY News 2 and reporting for the Elon Sports Network.

Darlington County Sheriff incumbent Wayne Byrd beat Charles Woodle Tuesday in the South Carolina Democratic primary.

Wayne Byrd received 5,486 votes - 68%

Charles Woodle received 2,562 votes - 32%

Byrd will not face any Republican opposition in November.
