South Carolina Highway Patrol had to wait about 30 minutes to free the driver of a car that crashed about 2:22 p.m. on Highway 90 near Lee's Landing outside of Conway.

Horry County Fire Rescue firefighters said power lines were down so they had to wait until power crews arrived and moved the lines.

Once they got the driver out of the car, he said he didn't need to go to the hospital. He was the only one involved in the wreck.

Highway 90 was shut down for a time but is now back open.
