A longtime Dillon County Councilman has died.

Macio Williamson passed away Monday morning at a Florence hospital, after a brief illness, according to the county administration's office.

Williamson as represented District One for 30 years. He is credited with doing a number if things to move Dillon County forward over the years.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Homegoing Services are planned for Saturday, June 16 at the South of the Border Convention Center in Dillon.

Services will begin at 11a.m.
