Myrtle Beach police are trying find the person who drove a car into a pond off 82nd Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard, then fled the scene.

It happened around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, according to Cpt. David Knipes.

When officers arrived, witnesses told police the driver ran a stop sign before driving into the pond. They said the driver then left the scene in another person's car.

Knipes said the car wasn't stolen, and investigators are now working to track down the driver.

Crews spent an hour getting the car out of the pond.
