Horry County police arrested a Garden City man after they say he poured lighter fluid on his girlfriend and threatened to set her on fire over a pack of missing cigarettes.
Donald Wayne Faust, 54, is charged with Criminal Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature.
On Saturday, Faust's live-in girlfriend called police to their home on Offshore Drive from a neighbor's house. She told officers Faust poured lighter fluid all over her because he couldn't find his cigarettes and thought she was hiding them from her. She said Faust also threw her on the floor in the bathroom.
Faust then left the home and ran into the woods, according to the police report. Officers arrested him in the woods a short time later. Police said Faust was intoxicated and had a pocket knife.
The woman refused medical treatment.
Police said Faust had been arrested in 2011 and charged with Criminal Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature for breaking his girlfriend's wrist.
Faust is being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
