UPDATE: SUSPECTS ARRESTED
Darlington Middle School and the Darlington County Institute of Technology were locked down Wednesday as deputies searched for the people who burglarized either a home or a business near the school off Highway 151.
Investigators with the Darlington County Sheriffs Office have arrested and charged three people with Burglary and Petit Larceny.
Donald Eugene Lacy, 18, Randolph Dequan Redden, 26, are charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Grand Larceny, and Criminal Conspiracy
Larry King Jr., 21, is charged with Burglary 1st degree, Grand Larceny, Failure to Stop for Blue Light, and Criminal Conspiracy.
Deputies spotted the car on Pinedale road. When the deputy attempted to stop the car, the subjects fled into a parking lot of a National Guard then jumped out and ran into a wooded area near the Darlington Middle School.
Around 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, 911 dispatch received a call about a burglary at a home on Rhoads Community Rd. in Darlington and the three suspects fled the scene in a small car.
One suspect was arrested in the parking lot of the middle school a few minutes after.
The second suspect was caught across Hwy 151 near the water department and the third suspect was caught about 30 minutes later on Pinedale Rd. near Swift Creek.
The items stolen from the house were found in the suspect's car.
