UPDATE: SCHOOL LOCKDOWN LIFTED

CONWAY -- Conway police are looking for two men near a home off 2201 Maple Avenue in Conway following a shooting Wednesday morning.

A man was shot in the jaw and the leg at 9:17 a.m. He told police two men came into his home and one of them shot him. He was only able to give a general description of the shooter to police.

Nearby Whittemore Park Middle School was placed on lockdown while the Horry County Police Department's Bloodhound Team conducted a search of the area for the shooter. The lockdown was lifted at 11:30 a.m. after police completed their search and deemed the area safe, according to Conway Police Public Information Officer Catina Hipp.

Hipp said officers will still patrol the area for the two men.

The victim was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. His condition has not been released.
