Socastee High School was evacuated Tuesday morning due to a bomb threat, according to Robert Kegler, Horry County police.

Students found a message on the bathroom wall and reported it to the School Resource Officer, says Kegler.

Bomb sniffing will complete a sweep of the school.

Horry County Schools' spokesperson Teal Britton says students were evacuated at 10:30 a.m. She said the threat was found in the boy's bathroom on the 2nd floor.

Britton says students were allowed back in as of 1 p.m. No device was found.
