The Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina are celebrating 100 years of scouting at a gala in Florence Thursday night.

The formal event is being held at the Southeastern Institute for Manufacturing and Technology in Florence. NewsChannel 15's Allyson Floyd, a former Girl Scout, is serving as emcee.

Tickets to the gala cost $100 and the proceeds support girls in our area as they participate in scouting.

Sonoco, McLeod Health, Progress Energy and WPDE are sponsors for the Centennial Celebration Extraordinare.
