Two children were thrown from a car during a crash in Loris about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Highway Patrol says the vehicle was traveling north on Highway 9 when the driver lost control and the car overturned.

One of the children was flown to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center and then to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

The other child and the driver were taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center by ambulance.

There were no other people in the car and no other cars involved.

The driver was charged with driving too fast for conditions and child restraint violations.
