The owners of Myrtle Beach based Direct Air believe they can still bring the troubled airline back to life.

In court documents filed Tuesday, the airline's owner asked the court to deny or at least delay converting their case from Chapter 11 to Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

The owners originally requested Chapter 11, which would allow them to reorganize. Their trustee requested conversion to Chapter 7, which would mean selling off their assets.

Direct Air's owners say they know they face obstacles, but they still have great potential to restart operations.
