Pee Dee town mayoral election underway

Voters in the Marlboro County town of Clio will cast ballots Tuesday for a mayoral race.

Incumbent Mayor Hamer McRae is facing opposition from Joe Kinney.

The two squared off in the 2008 election with McRae defeating Kinney by just one vote.

The town holds mayoral elections every two years.

According to the most recent census, about 774 people live in the town of Clio, which borders Dillon County.

The Marlboro County Voter Registration Office will tally the results when the election wraps up Tuesday evening.
