The trial for Tavaria Brunson, 18, the teenager accused of murdering a man at his job is expected to begin Monday.
Last April, police say the teenager shot and killed Chris Deaver, 33, at his job at Rick's Pawn Shop on West Lucas Street in Florence.
Florence police say Brunson walked into the pawn shop and opened fire. They say he shot Deaver at point blank range.
Officers say the teenager ordered Deaver's co-worker, Donna Robinson, to put some items in a bag. She did and that's when police say Brunson shot her in the eye.
He tried to shoot her again, but the gun jammed, according to officers.
Police say he then ran out of the business. Robinson was able to call 911 for help.
The incident was caught on the business's surveillance camera.
Brunson was tracked down hours later near Stackley Streect in Florence, a few block away from the pawn shop.
The teenager has been jailed since the murder.
Deaver was a well-loved musician in Florence. His fellow musicians have held a number of benefits since the killing to benefit Deaver's five-year-old daughter.
The trial could last throughout the week.
