HORRY COUNTY -- Investigators say fireworks started a fire that burned an ocean front home near Myrtle Beach Thursday afternoon.

The fire started around 4:15 p.m. at the home in Long Bay Estates, which is just south of Myrtle Beach State Park.

Horry County police say a group of people were renting the house for the week. They say a group of teenagers were on the balcony setting off fireworks when they caught the pine straw landscaping on fire.

No one staying in the home was hurt, but a firefighter was taken to the hospital after the fire was out.

Firefighters couldn't comment on his condition.

Horry County Police Sgt. Robert Kegler says fireworks are legal in the unincorporated parts of Horry County and it's unlikely charges will be filed.
