The State Ethics Commission has found Atlantic Beach Mayor Retha Pierce in violation of Failure to File a Pre-Election Campaign Disclosure Report and Failure to Itemize Contributions on Campaign Disclosure Report.

The hearing for Pierce was held Wednesday in Columbia, but she was not in attendance. The hearing was held in executive session and was not open to the public.

The commission issued a public reprimand against Pierce. She will have to pay a $500 fine and a $500 administrative fee. The $1000 must be paid within 30 days of receipt of the order or the fine reverts to total of $4000 plus the $500 administration fee.
