Jim Mader, a Pawleys Island business man is running for the Seventh Congressional District seat.
Mader, a Republican, owns a landscaping company in Pawleys Island.
According to his website, Mader says, "government spending is too high based upon its revenues, and congress has shown its inability to manage money."
He plans to make an official announcement later this week.
