Conway Police charged Albert Anderson, 30, of Conway with Grand Larceny after police say he staged a robbery at his own store.

Police say Anderson told them a man with a gun approached his vehicle and stole his wife's purse, which contained two deposits from his store, the C&C Handi-Mart on Fourth Avenue.

Police say Anderson told them he gave his wife the deposits to hold while he was locking up right before the man ran up, grabbed the purse and ran away about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say they found Anderson conspired with another person to stage the armed robbery and keep the money.

Anderson appeared before Judge Jane Mackey this morning and received a $5,000 surety bond on the charge.

Online records show he's been charged with Grand Larceny and Shoplifting in the past.
