Henry F. Borgeson, 25, of Myrtle Beach, is accused of using the website Craigslist to solicit sex from someone he believed to be a child.
The "child" who answered the ad was actually an undercover Georgetown County sheriff's deputy.
The sheriff's office says Borgeson began texting and emailing the "child" and offered to pay for sex. Borgeson arranged to meet the "child" for sex and was arrested when he arrived at the meeting place.
Borgeson is charged with Criminal Solicitation of a Minor, Attempted Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor (Second Degree), and Participating in Prostitution of a Minor.
South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest today as part of his office's "Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force."
Borgeson was arrested on March 8th.
If found guilty on all charges, he could face up to 35 years.
The Horry County Police Department, also a member of the Task Force, assisted with the case.
This is the 304th arrest for the Task Force.
