For several hours Friday, the website of the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners showed Dr. Anil Potti's medical license had been suspended. Potti is accused of manipulating data in cancer research while he worked at Duke University. As of 2:15 p.m. Friday, the site now says "No disciplinary action taken by the Board. This certifies that the above licensee is in good standing."

We weren't sure why the change occurred, so we contacted the state medical board. Spokesman Jim Knight said he wasn't aware of the change. His only comment was, "His status is what the website says."

Earlier this week, Coastal Cancer Center Myrtle Beach, where Dr. Potti was working most recently, terminated its relationship with Potti.

Before coming to Myrtle Beach, Potti was conducting cancer research at Duke University. His data showed a link between a cancer patient's DNA and the most effective method of treatment. Duke University and a CBS News 60 Minutes report, which aired earlier this month, accused Dr. Potti of manipulating data to match his theory.
