Ten homeless people, who were arrested Tuesday for trespassing on private property, were released at 11 a.m. Wednesday for time served.

The men and women were arrested Tuesday afternoon at a homeless camp that's been in a wooded area between Mr. Joe White Ave. and Highway 501 for the past decade.

Last week the property owner asked police to remove the people living there after complaints from nearby property owners. For several days leading up the eviction, police officers told those camping out they had to leave.

The couple that owns the property where the homeless stayed, live in England. They were upset about recent incidents at the camp like a man waking up on fire and a stabbing.

Rachel Thomas, who prefers to be called Kimmie, was one of the ten arrested Tuesday afternoon. She's happy to be out of jail and is now concerned about the three dogs she took care of, "I got to figure out how to get them back now. I don't care how much it costs me."

The dogs are now in Horry County's custody. If they aren't reclaimed, the dogs will be put up for adoption.

John Gibson avoided arrest Tuesday. He's concerned about his belongings. If any of them go back to the camp, they could be arrested.

"Really right now we're just bouncing back and forth walking the streets," explains Gibson. "Try to find another patch of woods they don't know about."
