Horry County police charged a 12-year-old boy with Conveying False Information Regarding Attempted Use of a Destructive Device.

They say the boy wrote a note on a bathroom wall saying a bomb would go off in the school. The note was found about 10:45 a.m. Friday.

Horry County Police Department's Bomb Squad swept the school using a bomb dog. They didn't find anything.

Investigation revealed the boy wrote the note. The student was detained, charged through family court and released to a parent.

In November and December, there were nine bomb threats in Horry County schools, many of them written on bathroom walls. The boy was only charged for Friday's threat.
