CAROLINA FOREST -- A store that serves several purposes will soon open in the Carolina Forest area of Horry County.

The Goodwill Store is set to open in two weeks near the Carolina Forest Post Office. It's been planned for five years.

Goodwill is a non-profit organization. It's mission is to help people find work and become more employable. To achieve this mission, Goodwill works off both monetary donations and donations to its stores.

Rick Shelley is the Regional Vice President for Goodwill. He thinks Carolina Forest is a good location to continue the company's mission.

"We're finding that if we go into residential areas like this one, that there's more of a likelihood of donations coming in giving us the opportunity to give back," he said.

The grand opening is February 16.
