Horry County Police Lt. Myron Creel says it appears two people are dead and another was wounded in what looks like a drive-by shooting.

The call went out about 8:15 p.m on Highway 31 around mile marker 13.

Lt. Creel says the shooting could be associated with another shooting Monday in Little River.

Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard confirms two people were killed in separate incidences that could be related.

Branden Alston, 28, was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center where he died from what Willard said appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds from the Highway 31 incident.

The other victim, Marlin Coward, 34, of Little River died at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center from what Willard said also appeared to be gunshot wounds from the Little River shooting.

An autopsy is scheduled for later today to find an exact cause of death for both victims.

Horry County Fire Rescue also responded to the shooting. Apparently, the car the victim's were in caught fire.
