Horry County police charged Jennifer Brown-Hemingway and Roger Hemingway each with abuse to inflict great bodily injury upon a child.

A 12-year-old child reported at school that his legs were beaten with a baseball bat on Halloween.

The child was taken to Loris Community Hospital and then to McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence for surgery. The hospital was told the child's injuries were due to a 4-wheeler accident.

Then on December 4th, the child said he was beaten in the arms, shoulder and hit in the eye.

Jennifer Brown-Hemingway and Roger Hemingway were booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Wednesday.
