CAROLINA FOREST -- A man was trapped inside his car for a short time after hitting a tree in the median of Highway 501 in front of the Dunkin' Donuts near Carolina Forest.
It appears the man was travelling toward Conway on 501 when he hit the tree.
He was taken to the hospital. His condition has not been released.
Several lanes were closed for about 30 minutes.
