FLORENCE -- Florence County Sheriff Kenney Boone hosted an event that drew about 1,000 bikers to the streets of Florence Saturday.

The ride began at Doug's Harley Ddavidson and ended at Creek Ratz.

Proceeds from the ride will help fund the sheriff's youth programs, the Wounded Warrior Project and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Youth Hunts.

Sheriff Boone says the ride is a way to pay tribute to first responders, the day before the 9/11 10th anniversary.
