Myrtle Beach police say a woman was hurt during a purse snatching at the Food Lion at 3890 South Kings Highway around 11:30 a.m. Monday.

Witnesses told police they heard the woman scream and saw her hanging onto the car the suspects were in.

The car sped up and the woman fell to the ground.

They say the thief took off going south on Kings Highway in an older model, possibly black Honda Civic.

The woman was taken to the hospital for cuts on her head and neck.

This was the second purse snatching on the Grand Strand in a week.
