The Florence School District One board is waiting on an answer from the U.S. Justice Department after finalizing a request Monday night.

The board members held a special called meeting after discrepancies arose concerning the school board map.

Some members say the map used in the November elections was the wrong one and impacted the races.

The board learned there are two maps with the same reference number on them, but the maps are slightly different, so board members are sending a letter to the Justice Department to find out which map was approved.

They're hoping to have this information soon, so they can make any necessary corrections before school board elections in 2012.
