Three Florence School District One board members are asking state police to investigate changes in the district's voting map.

Pat Gibson-Hye Moore, Alexis Pipkins, Senior and E.J. McIver say the map was changed without their knowledge before November's school board elections and that may have impacted the outcome of some races.

The three say they've also learned that same map has been submitted to the U.S. Department of Justice for approval. They believe some of the board knew the wrong map was being submitted.

"All of this time we've been asking asking for it to be placed on the agenda. No legal update as it relates to it as well, and all of this time they knew it and they had the information. Alarming," said school board member Alexis Pipkins.

The school board attorney says he'll comment on the maps at a special called meeting next Tuesday.
