The Greater Hartsville Chamber of Commerce is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of persons responsible for a fire and armed robbery.

Hartsville police and firefighters responded to the Jack-Be-Nimble children's clothing store Wednesday night.

Police found a person inside and pulled her to safety. She was taken to the hospital where she's being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Hartsville police say two men went into the store shortly after dark, robbed and assaulted the victim, and then set the building on fire.

"This is a blatant disregard for human life and property, and justice will be served," said Hartsville City Manager, Natalie M. Ziegler. "I have all the confidence that our city police officials will get to the bottom of this heinous act."

If you have any information regarding this case you are asked to call the Hartsville Police Department at 843-383-3011, Crime Stoppers at 843-667-8477 or your local law enforcement agency.

Earlier story - Hartsville Police respond to assault and building fire

Just after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Hartsville Police Chief Tim Kemp says a woman was assaulted inside a building on Carolina Avenue in Hartsville.

Kemp says moments later the building caught fire. He has not said if the fire was intentionally set.

Right now, police have closed part of Carolina Avenue where it intersects with Fifth Street in downtown Hartsville.

Kemp does tell NewsChannel 15, the woman has a bruise on her head, but is not releasing any information regarding her condition.

The Darlington County Sheriff's Office and the Hartsville Fire Department are investigating.
