The Florence County Sheriff's Office says someone passing by called 911 to report a body in a ditch just after 10:00 Saturday morning.
Officials say the victim is Michael Ford, 32, of Florence.
Hord was found Pygatt Road in Effingham.
Coroner Bubba Matthews says he's treating his death as a possible homicide.
Matthews is waiting on an autopsy result to determine's Ford's cause of death.
