A spokesperson for the State Law Enforcement Division says arrest warrants have been issued for the man running Lt. Governor candidate Ken Ard's campaign.

Jennifer Timmons of SLED confirmed the warrants against Robert Cahaly, 41, involve robo-calling.

WACH Fox News, NewsChannel 15's sister station in Columbia, says Cahaly has agreed to turn himself into SLED Wednesday.

SLED says the illegal political calls involve six House District races in South Carolina. The arrest warrants are for six counts of Automatically Dialed Announcing Device Violations.

Cahaly is accused of paying for and disseminating automated telephone calls ("Robo-Calls") from an Automatically Dialed Answering Device (ADAD) on September 23, 2010.

SLED says in a news release Tuesday afternoon, "The calls were political in nature and were allegedly made to potential South Carolina voters without properly disclosing the identity of the originating party to the call recipients, which is in violation of SC Code 16-17-446. SLED has determined that these illegal calls were made through a Richland County landline telephone number owned by Gadsden and Greene Strategies which is also owned by Cahaly."

SLED says the calls were allegedly made to numerous voters in House Districts 26 (Greenville and Pickens), 78 (Richland County), 79 (Kershaw and Richland Counties), 98 (Dorchester County), 108 (Charleston and Georgetown Counties) and 115 (James Island and Folly Beach).

Republican Ken Ard, a Florence County councilman, is facing Democrat Ashley Cooper in the race for the Lt. Governor's seat.

We also reported Tuesday morning, the arrest of Ard's son for driving under the influence.
