Darlington police are looking for a man they suspect swiped a pair of air conditioning units from a building about to become a Veterans Center.

Police say Willie Pooler is responsible for a number of larcenies and thefts in the area.

Two air conditioning units were stolen from a building on Law Street Wednesday night. The building is being renovated for the Veterans Transitional Base. Veterans coming home from the war who maybe wounded, in need of counseling, or who may need help getting readjusted to civilian life will be housed at the center. Officials at the facility say the thefts are a setback and will prevent them from opening in October.

Investigators say Poole stole two other air conditioners Thursday night.

If you know where Poole may be, you're asked to call the Darlington Police Department at 843-398-4045.
