More than 100 philosophers from around the world are on the Grand Strand this weekend.

Coastal Carolina University is hosting the American Association of Philosophy Teachers conference.

It's where college professors get to contemplate the best way to teach their students the discipline. The president of the association says its like a research conference for philosophy professors. "Philosophy as an academic discipline is one of the best disciplines to sharpen your intellectual skills, so many undergraduate degrees are given to students who later go on to law school or go and get other professional degrees," said Nills Rauhut, AAPT President.

Rauhut teaches at CCU. Some branches of philosophy include logic, ethics, aesthetics and religion.
