An accident victim is thanking the good Samaritan who helped her after a serious accident.

Highway 701 was closed Wednesday morning in Plantersville which is about twenty minutes north of Georgetown.

Denise Washington was driving a tractor trailer from North Carolina to Georgetown.

She says two deer wandered onto the road and Washington slammed her brakes to avoid them.

The truck jack-knifed, broke through this guard rail and rolled twice before landing in a swamp.

Washington was rescued by Plantersville resident Suzette Bryant who heard the crash and called 9-1-1.

Bryant stayed with Washington until help arrived.

Washington says, "She just stayed by my side the whole time. She never left my side until I got to the hospital, she was still there for me. So I just wanted to tell her thank you for helping to save my life."

Bryant remembers finding Washington, "I told her when she came up, I said it looks like the Lord was riding with you because it is amazing if you could have seen the vehicle laying down there in the dark."

Washington says she's sore but suffered no broken bones. she'll be back behind the wheel of another big rig early next week.
