Tonya has been reporting stories out of the Pee Dee for 10 years.
Thursday, the Bi-Lo store on Pamplico Highway held a "Fill the Truck" event.
The point was to have shoppers fill the truck with donations for the food bank, The Manna House. "People are looking for jobs. People are looking for work. When they get so tired, at least they have hope they can come to The Manna House and get something to eat and something cold to drink," said Christine Harrison, a Manna House volunteer.
You can still help food pantries in your area.
Many Grand Strand and Florence Bi-Lo store's are offering a Hunger Relief Box for $5. The boxes are filled with food most requested by food banks like mac and cheese, beans and soup.
The food goes to a food bank in your area.
