Highway Patrol says seven cars and two pedestrians were involved in two collisions Tuesday morning on Enoch Road in Conway.

They happened between 7:30 a.m. and 7:45 a.m.

Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins says smoke was a contributing factor to low visibility in the area. The State Forestry Division says they are fighting a wildfire in the area.

Collins says a car ended up in a ditch. When another car slowed to check on the people, the first collision happened, according to Collins.

Collins says some people got out of their vehicles after that crash, when the 2nd crash happened. That's how the pedestrians were involved.

Four or five people were taken to the hospital, Collins says. Non of the injuries appeared to be life threatening.

Scott Hawkins with the State Forestry Division says they've been fighting a fire in the area since June 23rd. It's burned about 25 to 28 acres, Hawkins says. He says it has the potential to grow, but that's not likely.
