ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) -- A manager at a South Carolina nursing home has pleaded guilty to misusing funds.

The Herald of Rock Hill reported 39-year-old Melissa Rice Kelly of Chester pleaded guilty Monday to 12 counts of exploitation of a vulnerable adult and one count of breach of trust with fraudulent intent.

Circuit Judge Lee Alford placed Kelly on probation for five years, ordered her to perform 30 days of public service and repay the money.

Kelly worked at Magnolia Manor in Rock Hill for two years.

A police report says Kelly was charged with elder exploitation and forgery last year after an audit showed she had forged and cashed nearly $66,000 in company checks since 2006.

Ken Moore with the attorney general's office says the charges she pleaded to involved more than $13,000 taken from the nursing home and its patients.
