(AP) -- COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is endorsing the only female candidate vying to become South Carolina's next governor.
Palin spokesman Jason Recher (RECK'-er) says Palin is coming to Columbia on Friday to endorse Republican state Rep. Nikki Haley. He says the pair are planning to hold an afternoon event at the Statehouse.
Earlier Friday, Haley is scheduled to tour the state with former South Carolina first lady Jenny Sanford. The two are planning several public appearances and private events in Charleston, Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head Island.
Haley is one of four candidates seeking the GOP nomination for governor. She has also been endorsed by former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.
